Yosemite National Park and Valley
We have visited Yosemite several times for various durations. It is a special place – as you drive in feels like “coming home”- there’s a great feel about the place. On this drive we approached from Death Valley via Lee Vining to the snow covered northern part of the NP and drove around to the Valley. We found best place to stay is just outside the El Portal entrance – cabins, eateries etc. There are camping grounds within.
The valley is just a magic place to visit – peaceful, wildlife and many places to view and paint – El Capital, Bridal Veil Falls, Cathedral Spires, Half Dome,Yosemite Falls (double tier), Vernal Falls (Wide), Nevada Falls, Merced River, etc. There are also numerous high vantage points for dreamy overlooks. Many of these were, of course, recorded by the great Ansel Adams.
