Irish Landscape Oil Paintings, International Landscape Oil Paintings
We are based in the historic heritage village of Slane, in the heart of the Boyne Valley in the royal county of Meath. This is a historical, heritage, and extremely scenic area from which to draw inspiration. We operate a one-person studio where art is practiced and artistic efforts are displayed. The artist, Pat Doyle, while pursuing an alternative and varied career, studied art over many years at Dublin NCAD and DLIADT as well as many national and international workshops. The most important art training contribution was 2 years spent full time at the Art Students League of New York. There he was fortunate to be taught by some of the great painters of our age. It also provided an overwhelming appreciation of the skills and output of the old traditional artists who are his ongoing influence.
Artistic output includes local oil landscape paintings, Irish landscape oil paintings, and international landscapes, in addition to a range of figure oil paintings and drawings. These reflect the many destinations and influences experienced all over the globe. Paintings are done on-site. Pat travels there in advance capturing the essence of the place, people, or wildlife. He then tries to do justice to what he sees. Please see the following on-site images and also the travelogues attached.
Oils on canvas are the principal medium employed, which is used to prepare a variety of themes. Only the best quality materials are used, thus ensuring the quality and longevity of the painting. As well as hog brushes, painting knives are used in many cases to achieve a varied texture.
Commissions – Pat is very happy to do commissions and gifts for special occasions, e.g., wedding venues or meaningful sights.
Travelogues – Information and photos are included for many of the locations. These attempt to give an impression of the many adventures and experiences, and maybe give ideas to future travelers. We welcome requests for travel info.
The studio is open to all who wish to visit and browse and discuss art. Pat is pleased to chat about techniques, art, etc. Note: Sizes shown are unframed sizes. Prices shown include framing. Prices include delivery.

Available to peruse (not for sale) is a substantial collection of art books that have been carefully selected from the various destinations visited.
