Hopeful Fishermen, Kerala

One of 2 paintings of this fascinating scene. Each morning at dawn a large group of older men assemble. Using a large ,very heavy wooden boat , a large net is pulled out about 1km into ocean. With a large assembly at each end the net is eventually pulled ashore where the hopeful fishermen await. The catch can vary from a few kgs to many kgs-it is distributed and the lads head off.
