Boyne Canal Arch and Pleasure Boat-original oil painting

This wonderful oil painting offers a glimpse back in time to the days when pleasure boats sailed along the Boyne Navigation between Drogheda and Navan. From its creation in the 1800s, the canal was built manually with excavated stone, including this beautiful natural rocky arch. The painting captures the majestic beauty of the scene, with its subtle use of light and colour creating a truly captivating image.

 

This painting steps back in time to when pleasure boats travelled from Drogheda to Navan on the Boyne Navigation. Building of the canal in 1800s required the manual excavation of stone sections including creation of this magnificent natural rocky arch!
